god
sassychickensuckerboy asked:

Does god supply energy to creatures so they can evolve into more advanced beings? Is he responsible for evolution? If we evolved from slime, and god helped us evolve into magnificient human creatures, doesn’t that qualify as a great miracle?
Also, is it not interesting to assert that god’s influence is responsible for humans walking upright? That is, god raised humans up so they would walk upright?
Horrible answer, not awesome at all, Bill…
Bobo: what is balance?
Actually, bobo, I think that the sun was responsible for men walking upright.
The sun is connected to the crown chakra, and it exerts a force upon the body, raising it. Actually, as long as there is a sun, even on other worlds, you will have bi-pedalism….
Jiraiya: Maybe you have fouind a reasonable scientific model there. On the other hand, you could be comparing apples and oranges…
Paul: I would say that we are god’s children, and that evolution is the process of growing up. God did not screw up, he just gave us the chance to grow into perfection, just like children get the chance to grow up..
Paul you said, “Evolution is a natural occurance and doesn’t require input from God. All it requires is input from the environment; organisms evolve in response to environmental changes”.

Unless god is part of the environment….

    Science and religion aren’t compatible.

Can a dog explain it’s concept of existence to humans?

Can humans explain their existence to dogs?

If it suits you to pretend that there is an external, invisible, and unmeasurable force (i.e. your deity) driving the natural world and processes like natural selection, then that is your prerogative; but it has no relevance to reality, given that deities are metaphysical (i.e. false).

Recent research has shown that early hominids developed bipedalism while arboreal. There are videos and photographs of chimpanzees walking upright on branches, using their hands on higher branches to steady themselves. It is believed that we developed bipedalism in very much the same way before descending to the ground full-time.

No. If we conveniently set it aside an act of “god”, we will never know the truth. We used to think in the medieval ages that pestilence and storms are caused by wrathful gods, now we know better don’t we, eh?

Wait, I thought God was perfect – are you saying that his creations have to evolve to a perfection that God couldn’t acheive? Did God screw up?

Evolution is a natural occurance and doesn’t require input from God. All it requires is input from the environment; organisms evolve in response to environmental changes.

Ah, interesting reply… supposing God is a part of the environment. One would assume that a god would be somewhat impetuous, not prepared to wait several thousand years to see what happens … after all, evolution is a long-term phenomenon. Not only that, surely God is too busy to worry about whether as bird’s tail should grow half an inch… I’m sure he’s too busy arranging the tsunamis, earthquakes etc.

Also, your statement regarding evolution “into more advanced forms” smacks of elitism. Who says evolution leads to an advanced form?
