I was just wondering if anybody had some examples of how people today know that religion was a very important part of the Egyptians life.

   The size of the temple complexes and the pyramids… it was a major part of their daily lives. They spent a lot of funds and time creating these extensive complexes. Many buildings that can be seen today are covered in religious carvings and inscriptions. Statues of their gods can also be seen today. The mummy’s that can be seen in museums speak volumes to their religion. They had amulets and other religious objects in the wrappings reflect their views of the afterlife and what gods they favored.

   People today know that religion was very important part of the ancient Egyptians life because WE HAVE EVIDENCE.
   here is some background info…

   The ancient Egyptians left one of the seven great wonders of the world, the Great Pyramids, and they are the only wonder still in existence. These pyramids were not just for show, although that had a lot to do with it. These pyramids were tombs for the pharaohs and their family.

   Now, time for the evidence.
   In these great marvels, were inscriptions, paintings, statues, amulets, mummies, incenses, and many other things that spoke loudly that they believed in “something”.The drawings were superb and hundreds of experts studied them and other artifacts.
   All these findings plus many more led them to the conclusion that ancient Egyptians were very religious and believed in many Gods, Goddesses, and an afterlife.

   really, I didn’t got you. what u r asking about the nowadays Egyptians or the ancient one! so anyway, u can may be say that egyptian ancients are too religious, as everyone answered u, it has evidences on the walls of the tomb. because, it was a royal part of the country system. the king is not the God there was another one it was just a statue the most known one was (horus). the most interesting part that one of the kings didn’t believe in those stupid statues he started to look at the skies, the green lands and so on and he believed that there is some one created all this things and he was pretty sure that those statues did nothing, and I am really not sure that after that he announced that the sun was God, I don’t know really.
   but for egyptians of nowadays all the world knows that we are religious, we have Cairo called “the city of thousands of minarets” but all the cities of Egypt full of mosques. and we have alot of religious words that we say it during the day spontaneously. on our lands there is alot of churches and that really sure ‘Egyptians are religious since there ancients’ but religious in the right way.

   Because of the huge number of temples and statues of gods and goddesses that still survive in Egypt today. Not to mention the enormous number of amulets of gods and goddesses that exist, and that just about everyone in ancient Egypt must have owned, judging by the number of them that are about.
