If homosexuality has been proved to be genetic and people don’t choose to be ***. Then why do some people insist that the church should be-able to preach against homosexuality still. Aren’t there other things that the church could preach about instead? Would religion suddenly be non-existent if homosexuality wasn’t recognized as a sin anymore.

Greek paganism had no such prohibition, and it survived just fine. Religions don’t simply exist to ban things. They would survive just fine without proclaiming homosexuality a sin.

Religion would be split even futher, there would be christians who preach that *** is ok and christians that preach **** against it. Come to that all religions would be sub divided like that I think…Wouldn’t surprise me if there was a war about it…life ***** sometimes :(

Hmm, I doubt it would be the end of religion. They might start trying really hard to “cure” us. The collection plate would be dumped into the save a homo fund.

What is your evidence that homosexuality is genetic? I have not heard of any. It is not in your genes whether or not you choose to be **********. You receive an XY chromosome if you are a man and an XX chromosome if you are a women. That is it. There is no genetic code for homosexuality.

No they would just find another group of people who are different from them to **** on! First it was us blacks now it’s us gays. They ca preach the things that Jesus actually told them like, love thy neighbor, love thy enemy, do unto others as you would have them do to you, all that good stuff. Instead they let **** influence their teachings. Which is why our victory, when it does happen, will bring major change in America and would send shock waves through the religious community! Religion will never disappear from America because it’s where we get our morale values from. We got those from the bible.

A lot of people still don’t believe that it is genetic. It is widely believed to be a personal choice. The biggest problem is that the Bible says that it is an abomination and that ****** is wrong. If people would use a more updated version of the Bible then everything would be better for homosexuals. The bible also speaks against oral sex, but that is never mentioned

    Good question!

I believe you should believe it’s wrong only if your conscience tells you it is wrong, not because of dogma…even if you have total faith in your dogma it should never contradict your own conscience. After all, that’s what is judged in the end.

Personally I think homosexuality and religion could get on just fine. Some religious people don’t like the word *** and prefer **********. But I think it is fine to use the word ***.

Celibacy is an excellent way of life for all orientations of people. However, the motivation to do so should never be done out of fear or controlling demands from religion. It should be done out of love.

Most religions act as if though ‘homosexuality’ is the one, the only, and by far the WORST of sins, which is sad and pathetic if you ask me!

My spirituality exists fine without believing homosexuality to be a sin.
