First check your pockets. If you have had Jesus in the past but lost him, re-trace your steps till you get to the last place where you had him.
Joking aside, I do not understand the meaning of this phrase. I hear it often enough but I am not convinced that even the people who claim to have found Jesus know what it is they have found. Religions in general give believers a sense of ease by convincing them that there is a beneficent power looking after them. There is nothing wrong with that as long as you keep things in perspective and do not allow it to become your life instead of a mental tool to help you life. Sorry, I digress.
I would advice you not to waste time looking for Jesus. Get to know yourself and your own limitations. That is a far better use of your time.

Well, Jesus died. So, a simple answer to your question might be tough luck.

Read the Gospel of Mark. That writer thought the world was going to end in his lifetime. It didn't. I think that the Jesus who was alive at one point was very ahead of his time and called for improvements to his religion that were good ideas. He had other good ideas, like selling everything you own and giving the money to the poor, then following him. So, a good way to start finding the Jesus concept would be to do that.

But right now I'm reading C. S. Lewis and he's saying that I should either accept that Jesus was God and that everything he ever said was true, or think that he was a lunatic.

So, um, thanks for making it so black and white, C. S. I guess that means I think Jesus was a lunatic. Hope this answer helps in some way.

I'm exactly the same as you. I just except the fact that either you have faith or you don't. It's something you're born with. I hope God exists and I can go to heaven when I die, so I live my life accordingly, but I'm very sceptical about the fact that there's a God at all. I'm not going to deny it though.

If you are open to learning more, try

We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer of the world, the Messiah. Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear.

I too was raised Catholic and if we had the same experience, then you were probably fed something without knowing what it was. Anyway, first know that Jesus descibed the states of a person before coming to Him. In the gospel according to Matthew, chapter five, Christ after seeing how lost the multitudes were, secluded Himself from them along with His disciples and gave them the "criteria" so to speak: first we see that they are poor in spirit, maybe feeling hopeless about life, they mourn, and are gentle. Basically no one comes to the Lord without being humbled. Then we see further n the chapter that this person realizes how in desperate need of a Savior they are. we also see in verse 8 that it is a condition of the heart. we also know this from Romans 10:9 which says "that if confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart God rasied Him from the dead you shall be saved". Its an issue of the heart and there are conditions that a person is in before they come to the Lord-poor in spirit, mourner, gentle, hungry and thirsty for righteousness. Dont take my word for it, read Matthew chp. 5 for your self, and for that matter other books of the bible. Pray for understaning, pray for a heart that is for the praise of God's glory. meditate on what God speaks to you through His word. I'll pray for you as well.

Do we need to 'believe' something for it to be knowledge of something. He is His wisdom. Realistically you must assume for Him a human purpose, but is that different from a God purpose. The purpose for Universal Love given to family for familiar purpose. The Will is positive, the Judgment is negative. You do not find Him, you use Him as foundation for your perspective, human limitation. What could be Universal Knowledge. It is the foundation for the particular and the peculiar.
